Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create a GroveFeed account, we collect your email address for authentication. When you set up your profile, you may provide a username, biography, and profile photo. When you use the app, we collect the content you post (photos, videos, audio, text), your interactions (leaves, echoes, cuttings), and your connections (roots).

We also collect device information (device type, operating system) and usage data (app opens, features used) to improve the service. We do not collect location data unless you explicitly share it in a post.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and provide GroveFeed’s features, authenticate your identity, deliver your content to your connections, send you notifications you’ve opted into, process payments, and improve the service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles. We do not serve ads of any kind. We do not use algorithmic content recommendations. Your data is used solely to provide the GroveFeed service.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (powered by Amazon Web Services) in the United States. Media files (photos, videos, audio) are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit. Authentication is handled via one-time passcodes sent to your email — we never store passwords.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with service providers necessary to operate GroveFeed. GroveFeed LLC uses the following providers: Supabase (database and authentication), SendGrid (email delivery), Apple (app distribution and in-app purchases), and Expo (app builds and push notifications). These providers process only the minimum data necessary and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

Your profile, blooms, echoes, and connection data are retained for as long as your account is active. Breeze posts are automatically deleted after 24 hours. When you delete a bloom or echo, it is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. When you delete your account, all your data — including your profile, blooms, echoes, leaves, cuttings, roots, and media files — is permanently deleted within 30 days. Echoes and leaves you left on other users’ blooms are also deleted. Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you post on GroveFeed. By posting, you grant GroveFeed LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, display, distribute, and deliver your content to your connections through the service and through our infrastructure providers. This license exists solely to operate the service and ends when you delete your content or account.

7. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to: access your personal information, request deletion of your data, download a copy of your data, opt out of any future data sharing, and receive equal service regardless of whether you exercise these rights.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other state residents: You have similar rights under your state’s privacy laws, including the right to access, delete, and port your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact admin@grovefeed.com or use the in-app controls in Settings.

8. Your Privacy Controls

You control who sees your content through privacy settings. You can set your profile visibility to Everyone or Roots Only. You can control whether others can see your roots list. You can block other users at any time, which prevents all interaction in both directions. You can control notification preferences.

9. Data Export & Deletion

You can download all your data at any time from Settings > Data & Storage. This export includes your profile, blooms, echoes, leaves, cuttings, roots, and notification history in JSON format. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all your data within 30 days.

10. Reporting & Content Safety

You can report any bloom or user profile that violates our community guidelines using the in-app reporting tools. Reports are reviewed by our team. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate our policies.

11. Children’s Privacy

GroveFeed is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact admin@grovefeed.com.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of GroveFeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
